Who we are
PikBloomWalks is an unofficial, fan-made companion for Pikmin Bloom, run by an individual hobbyist. It is not affiliated with Niantic or Nintendo. You can reach us at contact@pikbloomwalks.com.
What we collect
We collect personal data only when you choose to post a listing to one of the community boards. A listing is public by design. Depending on the board, it contains:
- Party Walks: the group name, your join link, the walk's dates and time zone, and optional region, language and note fields you fill in.
- Invite Codes: your 9-letter invite code, plus its region and language.
- Friend Codes: your 12-digit friend code and a set of fixed, menu-selected matching attributes (region, level band, play style, Pikmin types and similar). There is no free-text field.
- With every post we also store a salted, one-way hash of your IP address. It is used only to limit spam and abuse (for example, one active listing per person) and cannot be reversed to your real IP.
The calculators, mushroom reference and other tools need no personal data and store none — everything you enter there stays in your browser or in the page URL.
What we don't collect
- No accounts, sign-ups or passwords — the whole site works without logging in.
- No free text on Friend Codes, so you can't accidentally publish personal details there.
- We never store your raw IP address — only the salted hash described above.
- No precise location, contacts or device identifiers.
How long we keep it
Nothing on the boards lives forever. Each listing carries an expiry, and a weekly job hard-deletes anything past it — the row is removed from the database, not just hidden:
- Party Walks are deleted once the walk's last day has passed (a walk runs at most 28 days).
- Invite Codes are deleted 30 days after they are posted.
- Friend Codes are deleted 14 days after they are posted or last renewed. Renewing from your manage link resets this window.
Because expiry is also applied on every read, an expired listing stops appearing immediately, and the weekly sweep makes it permanently gone.
Analytics and Google
We use Google Analytics 4, on by default, to understand roughly how many people use the site and which pages are popular. Google acts as a third-party processor on our behalf.
Analytics sets cookies in your browser. The full list, with purpose and duration, is in our Cookie Policy.
Google may process this data on servers in the United States. We enable IP anonymisation and data-redaction settings, and we do not sell your data.
We may show third-party advertising (such as Google AdSense) in future. If we do, it will run on the same default-on basis as Analytics, and you will be able to opt out the same way — see "Cookie settings".
Your choices and rights
Because we store so little and never tie it to an identity, the simplest way to exercise your rights is directly:
- Delete a listing yourself at any time — from the manage link you received when you posted it, or with the board's delete-by-code form.
- Change or withdraw your analytics consent at any time using the "Cookie settings" link in the footer.
- For access, correction, deletion or any other data request, email us at contact@pikbloomwalks.com. Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to complain to your data-protection authority.
Cookies
We use a small number of strictly-necessary cookies and, by default, Google Analytics cookies (you can opt out at any time). See the Cookie Policy for the complete table.
Children
PikBloomWalks is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has posted personal data, contact us and we will remove it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the site evolves. The date at the top always reflects the current version; significant changes will be highlighted on the site.
